Dr. Jan Angeles is a native of Bear, Delaware. He completed his undergraduate studies at Temple University in Philadelphia, PA with a B.S. in Biology. Dr. Angeles attended medical school at Lincoln Memorial University – DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine in Harrogate, Tennessee.
Dr. Angeles joined the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital Residency Program with the goal of one day starting his own practice. Dr. Angeles’ passion for science and desire to help others was a big motivation for him to become a doctor.
Dr. Anand Bankapur is originally from Chicago, Illinois. He completed his undergraduate studies at Loyola University Chicago in Chicago, Illinois with a B.S. in Biology. He completed his medical degree at Ross University in North Brunswick Township, New Jersey.
Dr. Bankapur joined the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital Residency Program with the goal of one day providing full spectrum medical care in an outpatient setting. Dr. Bankapur feels he has a purpose in service which largely motivated his decision to become a doctor.
Dr. Haley Carroll is a native of London, Kentucky. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Kentucky in Lexington, Kentucky with a focus in Chemistry. Dr. Carroll attended medical school at Lincoln Memorial University-DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine in Harrogate Tennessee.
Dr. Carroll joined the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital Residency Program with the hope of one day working in Southeastern Kentucky as an outpatient family physician. She was motivated to become a doctor by her strong desire and commitment to helping her community.
Dr. Michelle Hutchinson is a native of Younsgville, Louisiana. She completed her undergraduate studies at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Dr. Hutchinson attended medical school at American University of the Caribbean in Sint Maarten.
Dr. Hutchinson joined the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital Residency Program with the hope of one day owning her own practice in a rural community. Dr. Hutchinson’s mom, who is a physician, has been her biggest motivator to becoming a physician.
Dr. Amber Levi is originally from Dayton, Tennessee. She completed her undergraduate studies at Bryan College in Dayton, Tennessee with a B.S. in Psychology. She attended medical school at Lincoln Memorial University – DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine in Harrogate, Tennessee.
Dr. Levi joined the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital Residency Program with the hope to use her medical degree to serve rural communities. She has special interest in women’s health and geriatric care. Dr. Levi was motivated to become a doctor by her desire to care for people in her community and deep interest in science and anatomy.
Dr. Adam Salem is a native of Cleveland, Ohio. He completed his undergraduate studies at Cleveland State University in Cleveland, Tennessee with a B.S. in Biology. Dr. Salem attended medical school at Ross University School of Medicine in Bridgetown, Barbados.
Dr. Salem joined the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital Residency Program with an interest in pursuing a sports medicine fellowship, providing comprehensive care in underserved communities, and pain management in a multidisciplinary setting. Dr. Salem’s mother instilled a desire to help in ways beyond just medical needs as she was a guidance counselor and emphasized in holistic well-being and this is what motivated him to become a doctor.
Dr. Jordan Barber is from Oliver Springs, Tennessee. She completed her undergraduate studies at Tennessee Technological University with a degree in Biology, Magna Cum Laude. She completed medical school at Lincoln Memorial University – Debusk College of Osteopathic Medicine.
Dr. Barber hopes to pursue a career in outpatient family medicine, lifestyle medicine, and wound care. She hopes to leave a positive impact on the lives of others and minister Jesus Christ’s love through patience and compassion. She chose LCRH because she feels that it caters to her interests in growing her procedural skills, practicing OMT, and being a highly competent doctor in the future. In her free time, she enjoys listening to live music, ballroom dancing, hiking, and spending time with friends. Her favorite show is The Office, and she hopes to visit Paris someday.
Dr. Leah Claborn is from Albany, Kentucky. She graduated from Berea College with a Bachelor of Arts in Biology. She completed medical school at Lincoln Memorial University – DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine.
Dr. Claborn hopes to practice family medicine in this region with a focus on sports medicine. Her motivation to become a doctor developed when her father had medical issues when she was in middle school. She began to research the medical field and eventually decided that’s what she wanted to do. She chose LCRH because she is close to family and has developed relationships with patients which she feels connected to. In her free time, she enjoys playing disc golf, board games, and visiting theme parks.
Dr. Molly Holcomb is from Burkesville, Kentucky. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Kentucky with a degree in Human Health Sciences and a minor in Business. She completed medical school at Lincoln Memorial University – College of Osteopathic Medicine.
Dr. Holcomb hopes to pursue a career in Rural Family Medicine. Her love for family-like connections in rural communities and the need for healthcare in underserved areas, sparked her motivation to become a doctor. She chose Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital because the physicians, staff, residents, and students have become like family to her. They helped solidify her reasons to become a doctor. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She also likes to cook and travel.
Dr. Annsley Ingram is native to Chatsworth, Georgia. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Tennessee-Knoxville with a degree in Microbiology, Cum Laude. She studied Osteopathic Medicine at Lincoln Memorial University.
Dr. Ingram hopes to pursue a career in Family Medicine with a focus on Women’s health. Her brother was in a terrible accident when he was younger, rendering her and her brother to become close to their pediatrician. Being around him and being impacted by his care inspired her motivation to becoming a doctor. She chose LCRH because of Dr. Jenkins impact on her. She knew she would be supported no matter what hardship she encountered. In her free time, she loves to spend time outdoors. Her favorite sports team are the Tennessee Volunteers, and she has a mini dachshund named Link.
Dr. Ashley Johnson is a native of Somerset, Kentucky. She completed her undergraduate degree with a BS in Biology and minor in Psychology with Summa Cum Lada and Deans list.
Dr. Johnson joined the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital Family Medicine Program to give back to the community that has given her so much. She hopes to one day explore the world of esthetics and offer services such as Botox, filer, etc. She went on a mission trip in high school which changed her life. She knew she wanted to help people not only physically, but mentally and spiritually as well. In her free time, she likes to shop or read books. Her dream vacation would be to stay in a place over the water in Turks and Caicos.
Shaylla Moore, DO, originally from Corbin, KY, is currently a PGY-1 resident in Family Medicine at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Human Nutrition with a minor in Biology from the University of Kentucky and went on to study at Lincoln Memorial University-DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine. Shaylla's career goal is to practice as an outpatient family physician in southeastern Kentucky, where she is motivated to provide care to underserved and rural communities.
She chose LCRH for its close proximity to her family and the positive learning environment she experienced as a medical student, which allowed her to build strong relationships with fellow students, residents, physicians, and staff. Shaylla is married to her husband, AJ Moore, and they share their home with two cats, Frankie and Tilly.
Outside of her medical career, Dr. Moore enjoys reading, and her favorite book is Throne of Glass . She also loves watching The Parent Trap and Outlander . If she weren't on a medical career path, she would consider becoming a librarian or hairstylist. When she dreams of vacations, she envisions relaxing anywhere on a beach. Her favorite holiday is Christmas, a time she cherishes for family gatherings, shared meals, and gift exchanges. Dr. Moore finds inspiration in the people around her and enjoys snacks like chips and salsa, alongside her favorite drink, Pepsi Zero Sugar.
Elizabeth Slayton, DO, originally from Taylorsville, KY, is a PGY-1 resident physician at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital, specializing in family medicine. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Kentucky before attending LMU-DCOM for medical school. Elizabeth’s career goal is to remain in rural Kentucky, where she aims to serve underserved communities with a focus on women’s health.
Her journey into medicine was inspired by her work as a nurse, which she felt was a calling from God. Dr. Slayton is passionate about caring for the body, mind, and soul of her patients. She chose LCRH not only for its proximity to her family but also because of the supportive environment she experienced as a medical student. Over the past two years, she has felt encouraged and nurtured by her teachers and peers, prompting her to continue her growth as a resident at LCRH.
Outside of her medical training, Dr. Slayton enjoys spending time with her family, hiking, shopping, and being on her farm with her pets, which include a golden doodle, two goats, and two cows. Her favorite book is Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers, and she enjoys watching The Sound of Music and When Calls the Heart . Elizabeth dreams of visiting Hawaii and values holidays like Easter, which she celebrates with family and reflects on the resurrection of Jesus. She is inspired by her mother and lives by the quote, “Be somebody who makes everybody feel like a somebody.”
Gabe Foit, DO, hailing from South Shore, KY, is currently an intern in the Family Medicine residency program at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital. He graduated from the Kentucky College of Osteopathic Medicine with academic honors after earning his Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences from Morehead State University, where he graduated summa cum laude. Gabe's career goal is to practice rural outpatient family medicine, allowing him to give back to the community he calls home.
He chose LCRH for its blend of a welcoming community and excellent medical training, which he believes provides the perfect environment for his professional growth. Gabe is married to Emily Foit, who is also a first-year resident, and together they share their home with a mini-golden doodle named Bertie.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Foit enjoys running and walking outdoors while listening to audiobooks. He is an avid fan of the Ohio State football team and dreams of hiking the Swiss Alps for a vacation.
Emily Foit, DO, originally from Ashland, KY, is a PGY-1 resident in Family Medicine at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences at Morehead State University, graduating magna cum laude, before attending the University of Pikeville-Kentucky College of Osteopathic Medicine. Emily's career goal is to serve the people of Kentucky and give back to the community that shaped her into the person she is today.
Her motivation to pursue medicine stems from the healthcare gaps she observed in her hometown and across the state. Dr. Foit felt an instant connection to LCRH during her residency interviews, appreciating its family-like atmosphere and the variety of opportunities tailored to each resident's interests. She shares her life with her husband, Gabe Foit, who is also a PGY-1 resident, and their spoiled mini-golden doodle, Bertie.
Outside of her medical career, Dr. Foit enjoys reading, needlepoint, exercising, and spending time with friends and her dog. She dreams of vacationing in Thailand and loves the book When Breath Becomes Air by Dr. Paul Kalanithi. For snacks, she enjoys edamame or fresh summer fruits, and she often treats herself to an iced honey cinnamon latte. If she owned a houseboat on Lake Cumberland, she would name it "Sink or Swim."
Thomas Case, DO, from Garrett, KY, is currently a PGY-1 resident in Family Medicine at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital. He completed his undergraduate studies in Biology at Alice Lloyd College and attended the Kentucky College of Osteopathic Medicine for medical school. Thomas's career goal is to become a trusted and competent physician, with a strong desire to give back to the Appalachian community.
He chose LCRH because of the exceptional support he received from the program and current residents, allowing him to feel heard and providing numerous opportunities for personal and professional growth. Outside of medicine, Dr. Case enjoys going to the movies and attending plays. He has a passion for trivia, demonstrated by his favorite podcast, Trivia Time , and he possesses a hidden talent for naming all the presidents in order.
His dream vacation is to visit Japan, and his favorite book is Blood Meridian by Cormac McCarthy. He enjoys the movie Amadeus and finds inspiration in the horror genre, particularly from Stephen King. His favorite holiday is Halloween, as he loves horror movies and the thrill of being spooked. If he could have dinner with anyone, it would be Dr. Patrick Jenkins.
Tricia Sizemore, DO, hailing from Harlan, KY, is currently an intern at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital (LCRH), where she is focused on her residency in Family Medicine. She earned her degree in Biomedical Sciences from Eastern Kentucky University, graduating magna cum laude as an Honors College graduate. Tricia's career goal is to practice in both inpatient and outpatient settings in rural Kentucky, with a special emphasis on women's health.
Her motivation to become a doctor stems from witnessing the need for healthcare providers in underserved areas of southeastern Kentucky. She chose LCRH for its unique blend of a smaller program atmosphere and the complexities of a larger facility, where the supportive community of physicians, staff, residents, and medical students has solidified her commitment to the medical field. Tricia is married to Jared Sizemore, and they share a goldendoodle named Banx.
Outside of her medical training, Dr. Sizemore has a hidden talent for makeup artistry, having been hired for weddings, proms, and other special occasions, which serves as a creative outlet for her. If she weren’t pursuing a career in medicine, she would consider becoming a cosmetologist or a fiction book critic. She is a fan of the UK Wildcats and enjoys daily lunch dates in the cafeteria with fellow students and residents.
