Dr. Brianna Brown is originally from Hixson, Tennessee. She completed her undergraduate studies at Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, Tennessee. She attended medical school at Lincoln Memorial University - DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine in Harrogate, Tennessee.
Dr. Brown joined the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital Residency Program with the goal of providing full-spectrum healthcare and improving the lives of patients throughout her community. Her decision to become a physician was largely influenced by the need to increase access to high-quality primary care services in underserved communities.
Dr. James Brown is originally from Pineville, Kentucky. He completed his undergraduate studies with a B.S. in Agriculture Biotechnology at The University of Kentucky in Lexington, Kentucky. He attended medical school at Lincoln Memorial University - DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine in Harrogate, Tennessee.
Dr. Brown joined the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital Residency Program in hopes to utilize his graduate and medical degree to practice medicine full-time in the Appalachia Region. Dr. Brown was motivated by his family to become a physician as they always emphasized helping one another and he wanted to extend that philosophy and use it to help the community in which he was raised in.
Dr. Bradford Layman is a native of Knoxville, Tennessee. He completed his undergraduate studies in Biochemistry, Cellular & Molecular Biology at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, Tennessee. He attended medical school at Lincoln Memorial University-DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine in Harrogate, Tennessee.
Dr. Layman joined the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital Residency Program with hopes of applying his medical school training and education to positively impact the healthcare in his community as a family physician. Dr. Layman has grown up always wanting to be a doctor and after a clinical internship in high school, was certain that pursuing a career as a physician was the correct path for him.
Dr. Swathi Mohankumar is originally from Jacksonville, Florida. She completed her undergraduate studies in Biomedical Sciences, Public Health & Psychology at the University of South Florida in Tampa, Florida. She attended medical school at St. George's University School of Medicine in Grenada, West Indies.
Dr. Mohankumar joined the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital Residency Program with hopes of utilizing her medical degree and education to pursue her interests in women's health. Her decision to become a physician was largely influenced by wanting to ease suffering, advocate for patients with health disparities, and make a difference in society.
Dr. Corey Morris is a native of McMinnville, Tennessee. He completed his Associates Degree at Motlow State Community College in Tullahoma, Tennessee, and received a B.S. in Biology from Tennessee Tech University in Cookeville, Tennessee. He attended medical school at Lincoln Memorial University - DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine in Harrogate, Tennessee.
Dr. Morris joined the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital Residency Program with the goal of specializing in outpatient rural family medicine. He hopes to complete a fellowship program in Hyperbaric Medicine and provide wound care services in rural communities. Dr. Morris was motivated to become a physician by the desire to provide quality healthcare to underserved rural areas as well as underserved communities on medical mission trips.
Dr. Jaysie Smith is a native of Somerset, Kentucky. She completed her undergraduate studies in Neuroscience at the University of Kentucky in Lexington, Kentucky. She attended medical school at the University of Pikeville-Kentucky College of Osteopathic Medicine in Pikeville, Kentucky.
Dr. Smith joined the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital Residency Program to improve the health and wellness of patients in her local community and focus on preventative medicine. She has grown up with the dream of becoming a doctor and participating in programs like LCRH's Health Career Explorers in middle school, and high school helped solidify her decision to pursue this career path. She is excited to return to Somerset and one day take care of patients right here, at home.
Dr. Jan Angeles is a native of Bear, Delaware. He completed his undergraduate studies at Temple University in Philadelphia, PA with a B.S. in Biology. Dr. Angeles attended medical school at Lincoln Memorial University – DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine in Harrogate, Tennessee.
Dr. Angeles joined the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital Residency Program with the goal of one day starting his own practice. Dr. Angeles’ passion for science and desire to help others was a big motivation for him to become a doctor.
Dr. Anand Bankapur is originally from Chicago, Illinois. He completed his undergraduate studies at Loyola University Chicago in Chicago, Illinois with a B.S. in Biology. He completed his medical degree at Ross University in North Brunswick Township, New Jersey.
Dr. Bankapur joined the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital Residency Program with the goal of one day providing full spectrum medical care in an outpatient setting. Dr. Bankapur feels he has a purpose in service which largely motivated his decision to become a doctor.
Dr. Haley Carroll is a native of London, Kentucky. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Kentucky in Lexington, Kentucky with a focus in Chemistry. Dr. Carroll attended medical school at Lincoln Memorial University-DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine in Harrogate Tennessee.
Dr. Carroll joined the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital Residency Program with the hope of one day working in Southeastern Kentucky as an outpatient family physician. She was motivated to become a doctor by her strong desire and commitment to helping her community.
Dr. Michelle Hutchinson is a native of Younsgville, Louisiana. She completed her undergraduate studies at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Dr. Hutchinson attended medical school at American University of the Caribbean in Sint Maarten.
Dr. Hutchinson joined the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital Residency Program with the hope of one day owning her own practice in a rural community. Dr. Hutchinson’s mom, who is a physician, has been her biggest motivator to becoming a physician.
Dr. Amber Levi is originally from Dayton, Tennessee. She completed her undergraduate studies at Bryan College in Dayton, Tennessee with a B.S. in Psychology. She attended medical school at Lincoln Memorial University – DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine in Harrogate, Tennessee.
Dr. Levin joined the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital Residency Program with the hope to use her medical degree to serve rural communities. She has special interest in women’s health and geriatric care. Dr. Levi was motivated to become a doctor by her desire to care for people in her community and deep interest in science and anatomy.
Dr. Adam Salem is a native of Cleveland, Ohio. He completed his undergraduate studies at Cleveland State University in Cleveland, Tennessee with a B.S. in Biology. Dr. Salem attended medical school at Ross University School of Medicine in Bridgetown, Barbados.
Dr. Salem joined the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital Residency Program with an interest in pursuing a sports medicine fellowship, providing comprehensive care in underserved communities, and pain management in a multidisciplinary setting. Dr. Salem’s mother instilled a desire to help in ways beyond just medical needs as she was a guidance counselor and emphasized in holistic well-being and this is what motivated him to become a doctor.
Dr. Jordan Barber is from Oliver Springs, Tennessee. She completed her undergraduate studies at Tennessee Technological University with a degree in Biology, Magna Cum Laude. She completed medical school at Lincoln Memorial University – Debusk College of Osteopathic Medicine.
Dr. Barber hopes to pursue a career in outpatient family medicine, lifestyle medicine, and wound care. She hopes to leave a positive impact on the lives of others and minister Jesus Christ’s love through patience and compassion. She chose LCRH because she feels that it caters to her interests in growing her procedural skills, practicing OMT, and being a highly competent doctor in the future. In her free time, she enjoys listening to live music, ballroom dancing, hiking, and spending time with friends. Her favorite show is The Office, and she hopes to visit Paris someday.
Dr. Leah Claborn is from Albany, Kentucky. She graduated from Berea College with a Bachelor of Arts in Biology. She completed medical school at Lincoln Memorial University – DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine.
Dr. Claborn hopes to practice family medicine in this region with a focus on sports medicine. Her motivation to become a doctor developed when her father had medical issues when she was in middle school. She began to research the medical field and eventually decided that’s what she wanted to do. She chose LCRH because she is close to family and has developed relationships with patients which she feels connected to. In her free time, she enjoys playing disc golf, board games, and visiting theme parks.
Dr. Molly Holcomb is from Burkesville, Kentucky. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Kentucky with a degree in Human Health Sciences and a minor in Business. She completed medical school at Lincoln Memorial University – College of Osteopathic Medicine.
Dr. Holcomb hopes to pursue a career in Rural Family Medicine. Her love for family-like connections in rural communities and the need for healthcare in underserved areas, sparked her motivation to become a doctor. She chose Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital because the physicians, staff, residents, and students have become like family to her. They helped solidify her reasons to become a doctor. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She also likes to cook and travel.
Dr. Annsley Ingram is native to Chatsworth, Georgia. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Tennessee-Knoxville with a degree in Microbiology, Cum Laude. She studied Osteopathic Medicine at Lincoln Memorial University.
Dr. Ingram hopes to pursue a career in Family Medicine with a focus on Women’s health. Her brother was in a terrible accident when he was younger, rendering her and her brother to become close to their pediatrician. Being around him and being impacted by his care inspired her motivation to becoming a doctor. She chose LCRH because of Dr. Jenkins impact on her. She knew she would be supported no matter what hardship she encountered. In her free time, she loves to spend time outdoors. Her favorite sports team are the Tennessee Volunteers, and she has a mini dachshund named Link.
Dr. Ashley Johnson is a native of Somerset, Kentucky. She completed her undergraduate degree with a BS in Biology and minor in Psychology with Summa Cum Lada and Deans list.
Dr. Johnson joined the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital Family Medicine Program to give back to the community that has given her so much. She hopes to one day explore the world of esthetics and offer services such as Botox, filer, etc. She went on a mission trip in high school which changed her life. She knew she wanted to help people not only physically, but mentally and spiritually as well. In her free time, she likes to shop or read books. Her dream vacation would be to stay in a place over the water in Turks and Caicos.
Dr. Leonardo Riera is native to Caracas, Venezuela. He graduated with a BS in Alternative Medicine. He completed medical school at Ross University.
Dr. Riera hopes to pursue a career in Rural Medicine and Medical Missions. He hopes to become a doctor because of his motivation through Christ and Medical Missions. Dr. Riera chose Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital because of the excellent learning opportunities, mentors, and culture. In his free time, he likes to do “geeky computer stuff”. If he wasn’t a doctor, he would be an adventure guide or a remote missionary.
