Internal Medicine Residency Curriculum

The curriculum provided by the Internal Medicine Residency Program is rigorous and comprehensive and is structured to provide both inpatient and outpatient rotations extensive exposure to General Internal Medicine and all Internal Medicine Subspecialties. Internal medicine residents follow the schedule below: 


It is our goal as a program to give aspiring physicians the best possible curricular exposure to facilitate their becoming Generalists or Subspecialists.  We currently have a 100% AOBIM/ABIM passage rate, and intend to pursue academic and clinical excellence rigorously. 

The Internal Medicine residency program incorporates outstanding inpatient and outpatient medicine learning experiences with sub-specialty rotations to create a dynamic educational process.  The following elective/sub-specialties are available: 

  • Research 
  • Otolaryngology 
  • Medical Education
  • Pain Management 
  • Neurosurgery
  • Medical Ophthalmology
  • Allergy & Immunology 
  • Hyperbaric Wound Care 

All Internal Medicine Subspecialties rotations are currently available on campus.  We also provide an outpatient clinic experience proctored by a General Internist with years of experience. A Medical Education rotation is also available. 

IM residents will also participate in

  • Outpatient Morning Report (M-F)
  • Inpatient Morning Report 
  • Noon Didactic Lecture (T-F)
  • Monthly M&M
  • Quarterly Skills Day 
  • Quarterly Grand Rounds 
  • Weekly Tumor Board
  • Cancer Conference
